DAY 1
Arrive early morning at Delhi airport. It will take you an hour to an hour and a half to clear immigration and customs. On arrival you will be met by our driver, who will transfer you to your stay in hotel. Lunch at the hotel. Rest and relax at your hotel in the late afternoon. If you would like to go out in the evening for dinner or a short tour that would be fine. If you prefer to stay at hotel to relax as well as have dinner there that is also fine. After dinner transfer to the New Delhi railway station to board your Executive Class 1st AC train to Jodhpur that departs at 8:30 pm. Arrive in Jodhpur just after 7 am and transfer to your stay in Manor home of the erstwhile prime minister of Marwar kingdom.
Day 2
Late Breakfast followed by a tour of the 15th-18th Century Jodhpur Meherangarh (Majestic) Fort. I believe you will want to have at least 2 to 3 hours here as there is much to see and a beautiful setting. In the early afternoon lunch in the finest restaurant of region followed the visit of Umaid Bhawan Palace a residence of Jodhpur Maharaja (King) trying some of the famous Jodhpur desserts. Before return to Manor home in the evening.
Day 3
Breakfast followed by leaving by road to Udaipur (via Ranikpur) 4 and half hours. Arrive at Ranikpur for lunch followed by exploring the 15thCentury Jain Temple complexes for a couple of hours after lunch. There are also a few older temples that are Hindu that are worthwhile to see as well. Arrive in Udaipur in the early evening. Dinner and stay at hotel.
Day 4
Morning breakfast followed the tour of Udaipur City Palace. The Palace spans many different Rajput as well as Islamic architectural styles and is located on the banks of Lake Pichola. Part of the Mewar (Udaipur) royal family’s art collection and objects are on display. I believe you will want at least 2 hours here. Lunch at small island restaurant, I would suggest you should spent 3 to 4 hours here, from this island great view of City palace and Lake. Your stay in 16 century Fort (45 minutes drives from Udaipur) Fort was an erstwhile royal property that was conserved into a hotel over a six year period. It is located in the centre of small towan. Arrive at Fort for dinner and night stay.
Day 5
Morning breakfast and followed by leaving by road to Nathdwara. This town is just one hour from Udaipur and is rarely visited with a traditional bazaar still operating as well as the pilgrimage site for followers of Sri Nath ji (a local Hindu Sect). You will be able to see the Pilgrims as well as the temple and since Nathdwara is almost unchanged it’s a wonderful place to experience. Nathdwara is also one of the main centers for tie and dye cotton hand-fabrication as well as enamel works on silver objects and jewelry and you can see the artisans and their works here as well. Late lunch in Nathdwara and return to Fort for stay.
Day 6
Breakfast followed by leaving by road to Bundi (3 and half hours). Bundi is a city rarely visited in Rajasthan with one of the most spectacular forts in India. The Taragarh Fort was built in the late 16th and early 17th Century in a combination of Chouhan and other Rajput styles with some of the last remaining painted wall murals of the Bundi school of this period that remain. Arrive in the late afternoon at Bundi. Dinner and night stay in hotel.
Day 7
Breakfast followed by a tour of the Taragarh Fort (I believe you will want at least 2-3 hours here). Early Lunch in the bazaar followed the visit of Rani ji ki Bav (step well). stepwells—which incorporated a cylinder well that extended down to the water table—provided water for drinking, washing, bathing, and the irrigation of crops. They also served as cool sanctuaries for caravans, pilgrims, and other travelers during the heat of day or overnight. Commissioned by royal, wealthy, or powerful patrons, they were complex engineering feats and stunning examples of both Hindu and Muslim architecture. Dinner and night stay at hotel.
Day 8
Breakfast followed by leaving by road to 16 century Fort palace (2 and half hours) lunch on arrival. The Fort Palace is in a village setting and is the only royal palace in India where guests can stay inside the authentic 16th Century Princess Room. This is unchanged from the period except for the addition of electricity and the bathroom. The Princess room is large and lovely. The architecture of the Fort is also very fine. Arrive in early afternoon for lunch, relaxing, exploring the fort palace followed by dinner and night stay in the Fort.
Day 9
Early breakfast followed by leaving by road to Pushkar (1 and half hour drive). Pushkar is one of the most ancient cities of India. Located in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district in midst of Aravali range, Pushkar is often called tirtha-raj, which literally means the king of pilgrim sites. It is also among the five pilgrim sites or dhams for people following Hinduism. There are several temples in Pushkar and the most famous temple is the Brahma temple, which is one of the few temples dedicated to Brahma in the world. Pushkar is also famous for the Pushkar Lake, which has 52 ghats (stone staircases). Pilgrims from across the country visit the lake to take a dip in its holy water. The sacred Pushkar Lake resounds with the chants and hymns from the 400 blue colored temples located on its banks. Dinner in local roof top reaustaurent with nice view of towan. A personal guided tour of Pushkar will be on this day. Return to Fort for night stay.
Day 10
Breakfast followed by road to Jaipur (2 an half hour drive). Arrived in afternoon in Jaipur. In evening explore local bazaars. Dinner and night stay at hotel.
Day 11
Breakfast followed visit the glorious 16th Century Amber Fort for a tour (the original Jaipur State capital), (2 hours). Lunch in Amber followed by a tour of the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), the Jal Mahal and block print textile market in Jaipur. Dinner and night stay at hotel.
Day 12
Breakfast followed by leaving by road to Agra (3 hours drive). On rout stop at Fatehpur Sikari. Fatehpur Sikri is the magnificent 16th Century Mughal capital city. There is both the royal palace complex as well as the mosque complex that also has the wonderful Buland Darwaza which is the main gate into the city as well as the tallest gate in the world. The mausoleum of Salim Chisti which has some of the finest carved latticed marble screens in India is inside the main square. Arrived Agra in evening, dinner and night stay at hotel.
Day 13
Sunrise at the Taj Mahal for a 2-3 hour tour of the Taj Mahal and the surrounding buildings, museum and gardens. You will appreciate the incredible and detail petra dura (inlay work) craftsmanship is every ware on Tajmahal. Lunch followed the visit of Agra Red Fort. In evening transfer to railway station for board on high speed train depart 5:30 pm and arrived at Delhi at 7:30 pm. Dinner and night stay at hoteal.
Day 14
Breakfast followed by a tour of Humuyuns Tomb and the Qutab Minar complex. Besides the famous tower the complex also has the finest metallurgy pillar made in the ancient world, created by the Guptas. After the Qutab Minar lunch followed by a tour of Red Fort and exploring the old Delhi bazaar. In the evening dinner at Kareems, the 5th generation Mughal restaurant, followed by returning to hotel for night stay.
Day 15
This day would be organized according to your international flight schedule.
